It'll be fine for light use, I guess I can just game on the house PC.īut as-is, if it's the LCD, I just can't justify dropping $600 to repair a Haswell era box. ![]() Has anyone dealt with this sort of problem before? Any chance it's the display cable or something instead of the LCD panel? I'm planning to replace it with a newer Mac Mini, though the low GPU performance worries me (I expect I won't be playing Kerbal Space Program on a Mac Mini's GPU). I can do the replacement, but that's just painfully expensive for a 6 year old computer. The problem is that a replacement LCD panel for this series of iMac, in "not cracked" condition, is $600. GPU seems fine, external display connections seem fine, etc. Working with an external monitor is fine (once I got it to boot into the OS instead of recovery mode - the screen came back just long enough for me to figure out what was going on). No physical damage, the machine wasn't moved, just up and quit. I have a late 2013 iMac, 27", Haswell, 780M.
